The logbook of the barque Active details a voyage from Salem, MA to Bordeaux and Isle de Bourbon (Nov 1804 to Feb 1806). Home port was Salem, MA; owners were Icabod Nichols, George Nichols, Benjamin Pierce, Benjamin Hodges, and Timothy Bryant; master was Timothy Bryant and log keeper and first mate was Francis Boardman. Stopped at Martha's Vineyard Jan. 1806. Has a very interesting account day by day of doings during thier long stay at Isle de Bourbon (now called Reunion), mentions arrival of the Belisarius (Capt. Robert Peele) and the Laurel (Capt. Blackler) and tells of being overhauled by a British frigate which took two of the crew.
